Langtang Valley Trek
Langtang Trek- A one week logistically and physically easy tea house trek very near to Kathmandu, where no any kind of earlier trekking experience is required, no special permits needed and a perfect trekking choice for those looking to go somewhere else than those crowd of Everest and Annapurna.
The Langtang valley trek follows the river upstream through forests of pine, bamboo and rhododendron, ascending through pastures to arrive at the alpine meadows of Kyangjin gompa, where you’ll get some of the magnificent views just a stone’s throw from the Tibetan border. Climbing up to Kyangin RI or Tsergo RI, no doubt you get to see just spectacular mountain views. In autumn, expect to see superb views of the massif Langtang Lirung (7246m), while in spring this is an ideal route for those interested in birds and flowers. Both seasons will allow you to reach the glaciers below Langtang Lirung.
The setting of the entire village is stunning; with mountains all around you, but a visit to Syabru is above all a cultural experience, an opportunity to join in the life of Tamang community. An experience will truly enrich your life if you take the time to relax into the pace of day set by the sun, the animals and the crops, watching the nimble fingers of the weavers and the skill of plaiting bamboo. You will stay in a simple yet comfortable lodge in the heart of village, sitting in the sun on the terrace overlooking the main pathway while passers- by greet you with “Namaste!” The woman’s costume is a very much influenced by their Tibetan neighbours. They wear a long tailored chuba over a shirt, a syama of colorful striped wool behind. However, whereas the Tibetan wears this as an apron in front or pointed behind to denote marital status. The Syabru Tamangs add embroidered corners and decorations. The small cap with triangular sidepieces is another distinctive feature of the women’s dress.

- Terrain: sightseeing in cities and some optional day walks on well-travelled trails.
