The Holy Pathibara Devi Temple is one of the well-liked pilgrimage destination, it is located at the eastern region of Nepal in Taplejung District. The animist divinity at Pathibhara is worshipped with equal admiration by both Hindus and Buddhist. Pathibhara is considered as one of the Shakti Peethas.
Worshippers from different part of Nepal and India congregate the temple during special occasions, as it is believed that a pilgrimage to the temple ensure fulfillment of all that the pilgrim desires. The pilgrims sacrifice animals and bring gold and silver as offerings to the Pathibhara Devi. The Buddhist of the surrounding area glow the lamps at the temple on Full moon nights, while the Hindus pack the temple during special celebration.
