Ang Lhakpa Sherpa

Ang Lhakpa Sherpa is a mountain climber and the managing director of Yak Expeditions. He has participated in various expeditions to different mountains in the Himalayas. He started his career as a porter and then moved on to become a Kitchen staff in expedition groups. In 1996, Lhakpa, still an amateur first go his permission to become a climbing guide. He climbed the famed Island Peak (6183m), his first assignment. After the brief stint, he began climbing a series of mountains in the following years, which includes the difficult Mt Cho Oyu (8201m). A Sherpa by heritage as well as deeds, Lhakpa continues his drive to conquer mountains and take clients from all over the world to the pinnacles of snow in the Himalayas.
