Chulu West (6419m)

Chulu west peak

Climb Chulu West in Annapurna Region

Chulu West is another beautiful peak that can be climbed along with the trek in the famous Annapurna region.

Climbing Chulu West does not involve any technical difficulties, but requires a very good endurance during the summit day.

The participant must be well acclimatized before attempting the summit. We have a rest day in Manang, where we can go for a side trip to Ice Lake (4600m). We do have a rest day in base camp for the acclimatisation and the preparation for the summit day.

We will set up the base camp at 4900m and high camp at around 5500m. The summit day will be very long with the positive elevation of around 1000m.

The Sherpa’s will fix the ropes in some section before reaching the high camp.

It is recommended to start early in the morning around 1 am for the summit day rather than setting up two high camps. The logistical challenge, bad weather conditions and a night in 5800m could increase the problem.

You will need to take the climbing permit as almost every trekking peak in Nepal. Find more information about the climbing permit here: CLIMBING PERMIT

After the ascent of Chulu West, we clean up the base camp and head toward the direction of Thorong La pass. You always have the possibilities to extend and customise your trip as per your need.
