Ganja La Pass Trek

Ganja La Pass Trek

Langtang Ganja La Pass Trek

Ganja La Pass Trek is another great trekking route in Langtang region. This trek allows us to visit the Langtang valley and Helambu region.

Easily accessible from Kathmandu, with a lot of trekking & climbing opportunities and more importantly, Langtang region is open for the tourists after the terrible earthquake. The lodges are now constructed and the trekking trails are maintained.

The main ethnic groups in this region are Sherpa and Tamang whose religious practices, languages and dress are much similar to those of Tibet.

Itinerary of Ganja La Pass

We will follow the same route as Langtang valley trek until Kyangjin Gompa. Its after Kyangjin Gompa, where will head toward the base camp of Ganja La Pass.

The side trip to Tserko Ri will help a lot to acclimatise before we cross the pass. The panoramic view from the summit of Tserko Ri is breathtaking.

The best time to cross the pass would be from mid October- early December. The snow conditions should be well considered before crossing the pass. It could be quite tricky and risky to cross the pass in spring season due to avalanche risk.

However, you need to be physically fit enough to cross the Ganja La pass. It is quite difficult than the normal Langtang valley trek.

If you are trying to avoid the crowds of the Annapurna and Everest Region, then this trek is the right choice for you.
