Everest Base Camp Trek
The Everest Base camp trek is arguably one of the most famous trekking routes in the world, and this is lifetime opportunity to see some of the breathtaking scenery imaginable.
This is the most classic and busiest trekking route in Nepal, but who does not want to be at the base of the world’s tallest mountain. It is an incredible experience to be in the homeland of Sherpa’s, witness their culture, to be around the world’s highest massifs.
Itinerary- Everest Base Camp Trek
Our Everest base camp trek itinerary is a bit different than classic trekking route to base camp because we would like to do a round trip rather than descending the same way back to Lukla. This is much more interesting. We will visit the beautiful Gokyo Lake and the side trip to Gokyo Ri will allow us to acclimatise.
As soon as we start our Everest base camp trek from Lukla, we head to the direction to Gokyo lake, cross Cho La pass and then move toward the base Camp. We either can visit Kalapathar or Everest Base Camp. The views from Kalapathar is mesmerising. Then, we head down to Tengboche, Monjo and finally in Lukla.
If you are physically fit and capable of walking six-seven hours a day with the positive elevation of 700-1000m, then it is the perfect trip for you.
The route to the top of Cho La pass is well maintained now. If you are trekking in October and November, you will not find a lot of snow until the top of the pass. Once you descend from the top, you will find the section, where it is much safer and comfortable to walk with crampons. You can cross the pass with the normal metal crampons.
If the crossing of Cho La pass is difficult for you, we can always customise the itinerary for you. The classic Everest base camp trek itinerary is recommended for the novice trekkers.
If you are looking for a bit challenging trek and want to discover the more of Everest region, then we recommend you to do Everest Three High Pass Trek.
